🥏 What Is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate Frisbee — usually just called “Ultimate” — is a fast, exciting team sport played with a flying disc!

It combines some of the best parts of soccer, football, and basketball, but there’s one big difference:

You play with a Frisbee! 🥏

Players run, throw, catch, defend, and work together to move the disc down the field. Catch it in the other team’s end zone and…

🎉 SCORE!

Ultimate is also a non-contact sport, so there’s no tackling. It’s easy for beginners to learn, but there’s always something new to practice as you improve.

Best of all, everyone can play!

⚡ How Do You Play?

🥏 Throw It

Pass the disc to your teammates to move it down the field.

🛑 Catch It — Then Stop!

You can't run while holding the disc. Once you catch it, stop and use one foot as a pivot while looking for your next pass.

🔄 Turnover!

If the disc hits the ground, goes out of bounds, or is caught by the other team, possession changes immediately.

🏆 Score!

Catch the disc in the opposing team's end zone to score a point!

🚀 Start With a Pull

At the beginning of the game and after each point, one team makes a long throw called a pull to start play.

🤝 Spirit of the Game

One of the coolest things about Ultimate is that players learn to play fairly and respect each other.

Ultimate traditionally uses something called Spirit of the Game, which teaches players to:

⭐ Respect opponents
⭐ Know the rules
⭐ Communicate calmly
⭐ Make fair calls
⭐ Have fun!
